We’re looking for a smart, hard-working, and collaborative Software Engineer who wants to take on the challenges and rewards of a technology startup. You will be involved all the way from requirements gathering with customers to designing, coding, and releasing a secure online payments product. There are opportunities to work in popular frameworks, to create APIs, learn payment systems, and much more.
You may be based in our Santa Barbara, CA office, or work remotely within the U.S.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Possess strong communication skills in order to actively participate in an agile software development lifecycle with both customers and others on the RentTrack team.
Design, implement and troubleshoot PHP applications built on the Symfony 2.0 framework using a MySQL database on RedHat Linux.
Work closely with product management to quickly understand customer needs, and come up with a robust solution that can be shipped rapidly.
Contribute to the knowledge base, Wiki, and other RentTrack resources to help build the best customer experience.
You must have experience with:
Developing PHP web applications and can show us examples of your previous projects.
Developing on Linux environments.
Experience with the following is a plus:
PHP frameworks like Symfony or Zend.
Javascript, CSS and Front-End development.
Linux system administration and cloud services like AWS.

Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work with minimal direction while maintaining a high level of productivity.
